What is your Colorado weather policy? Do you still provide service when we have inclement weather?

Living in Colorado we get the beauty and experience of four distinct seasons. As we approach the winter season, it is possible to encounter dangerous ice or blizzard conditions. The Pet Nanny may need to adjust walks and visits based on current conditions. On days with extreme ice or snow, we will reach out to you to shorten dog walks to ensure the safety of the dogs and our caregivers. We also know visits may be delayed. Rates will not be adjusted due to shortened walks; however, playtime inside the home is our strategy to keep pets engaged with appropriate care. When the weather presents traveling predicaments due to large amounts of snow, we will call clients in the morning to let them know to expect delays up to an hour or so depending on the conditions. If conditions are hazardous and school and business closures are imminent, we will error on the side of safety and wait till conditions have improved. We are most concerned about away care and how best to care for pets, especially dogs, since cats may have more opportunities for independence for 24 hours. We have to balance caregiver safety and the care for our pets. We know pets have to be seen; it's just a matter of when.

What if there is an emergency while I am away from my pet?

The Pet Nanny requests and maintains the most up-to-date information about your pet, which includes vet information and emergency animal hospitals you prefer in your area. We will have you complete a pet information form that provides us with your pet's current and past medical history. Our forms contain a medical emergency agreement which will allow us to care for your pet while you are away.
